Constantine Maroulis' Band Gets Record Deal

While his fellow contestants continue to try their hardest at securing a record deal, 'American Idol' contestant Constantine Maroulis will find a record in stores May 10th without winning the competition. KOCH Records - the group that brought us two William Hung albums, a 'Superstar USA' compilation, and a new Jim Verraros (first season finalist) CD - have announced the signing of Maroulis' pre-'Idol' band Pray for the Soul of Betty. KOCH Records President rained down the same kind of praise he used to describe Hung as "the next Elvis" when he noted "Pray For the Soul of Betty is one of the best rock bands I've heard in years. Considering how popular Constantine Maroulis is, we should go gold for sure!" Maroulis' bandmates were not happy with his decision to audition for 'American Idol', and expressed their concerns in a segment aired during the audition segment. One would think a record deal and the rumour of an opening slot on the 2005 'American Idol' tour will have changed their mind.
