'Rocco's On 22nd Street' Closes For Good
Posted by Rick Jessup, September 22 09:36 AM

The centrepoint of two seasons of NBC's 'The Restaurant', Rocco's on 22nd Street, closed it's doors for good last Wednesday, September 15th. The restaurant had been the site of infighting and a lawsuit between celebrity chef and half owner Rocco DiSpirito and half owner Jeffrey Chodorow. The last round of lawsuits had allowed Chodorow the legal opportunity to close the restaurant, regardless of DiSpirito's stake. In August Chodorow had rehired chef Tony, he who had been fired by DiSpirito in the final episode of 'The Restaurant' season two, and Tony was wasting no time bad-mouthing Rocco to anyone who would listen - regardless of the fact Momma was still employed with the restaurant. An as-of-yet-unnamed Brazilian steakhouse featuring head chef Claude Troisgros will replace Rocco's later this fall.
