'Chappelle Show' Producting Halted
Posted by Rick Jessup, May 5 09:05 AM

It appears 'Chappelle's Show' won't make its scheduled May 31st season premiere after all. It's the third delay for the third season of the popular Comedy Central sketch comedy show, all arriving since Dave Chappelle signed his lucrative new contract, believed to be worth over $50,000,000. No reason was given in a tersely worded statement released by the network: "Comedy Central has suspended production on the third season of 'Chappelle's Show' until further notice. All parties are optimistic that production will resume in the near future. The third season will not premiere on May 31st as originally scheduled." Originally scheduled to debut earlier this year the show was first postponed when it was stated Chappelle and his writing team got a late start on their writing, and was delayed again when he contracted a tough bout with the flu. The DVD release of the show's first season still stands as the top selling TV title on DVD of all time.
