'Transformers' Finds A Writer

I've got a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. John Rogers, the creative mastermind (har! har!) behind 'Catwoman' has been hired on by Steven Spielberg to put pen to paper on the script for the full film version of 'Transformers'.

What's with this recent trend of making movies out of toys or shows that ceased to be cool almost 20 years ago?

The Original Transformers shall NEVER cease to be cool.. unless, of course, they create it as a live action movie. That would be about as uncool as uncool gets.
