Conan To Replace Leno.. in 2009
Posted by Rick Jessup, September 27 04:46 PM

On the eve of the 50th anniversary of NBC's 'The Tonight Show' comes word that Jay Leno's final broadcast will take place in 2009. "In 2009, I'll be 59 years old and will have had this dream job for 17 years," stated Leno. "When I signed my new contract I felt that the timing was right to plan for my successor, and there is no one more qualified than Conan." The Conan he refers to is, of course, Conan O'Brien, host of NBC's 'Late Night' program since 1993. It was made official when O'Brien signed a new deal with NBC that will cement him as host of 'Late Night' for five more years before stepping in as the new host of 'The Tonight Show'.

You mean it's not Conan the Librarian? I'm disappointed.
