It’s Superhero week at rickjessup.com!

It’s Superhero week at rickjessup.com! I will freely admit that I don’t care for the Superman series of films. I haven’t seen Spiderman. And the Batman series of flicks suck for anyone who was actually a fan of the Batman comic book. I hate Robin and was glad when he died. I was sad when they brought him back. The only thing worse than Robin is Recycled Robin. However, is this not the coolest premise for a film ever – and it’s going to be made!

Batman vs. Superman: “In a script penned by Andrew Kevin Walker (“Seven”), the two superheroes are allies who come to mighty blows over what director Wolfgang Petersen describes as differing philosophies.” (link here)

Ok… coolest… movie… ever… And I’m sorry but Batman would SO kick Superman’s arse. :) Don’t even talk to me about Spiderman, he’s been dancing down there for over 24 hours now, ain’t no way he’s beating up any other superheroes being all poofter-ish and stuff. So help me if they hire that Paul Walker goof from ‘The Fast and the Furious’ to be Batman I’m going to kick my monitor in. I’m telling you, one studio turns a waifish geek like Tobey into a superhero and suddenly everyone is clamoring for the next big Millhouse to be a star.

Oh, and Anna Kournikova has been very, very bad.

Finally, what do you get for the person that already has everything? Why, this book of course.

Cheers,
Rick Jessup

This post is great… FOR

This post is great… FOR ME TO POOP ON! I kiiid.. I kiiiiid… (my shout-out to GoalieGirl)

UPDATES!

1. The Relay for Life Cancer run this Friday is still on, I’ve got final details. I’m part of a group of 10 who will have to keep in continuous motion around a track from 7PM until 7AM Saturday morning. That’s going to throw a wrench in my plans if I end up getting a ticket to Vegas for this weekend. All run and no sleep make Rick something something… Donations to the cause are still being accepted, and tax receipts will be mailed from the Canadian Cancer Society for any donations of $10 or more. If you can give anything that would be great!

2. The script is coming along. I completed what I feel is a great soundtrack this week – it’s 16 songs and one bonus song. The tracklist, should anyone feel like looking them up, is as follows. Please note that, as soon as I’m confident enough that the script is coming along well, I’m buying the domain and the soundtrack will then be available up there. The heart of the film wraps around the song Radio King by Golden Smog, but as written so far, a lot of these songs gain good exposure.

1. Wilco – Secret Of The Sea
2. Steve Earle and The V-Roys – Johnny Too Bad
3. Whiskeytown – Don’t Wanna Know Why
4. Steely Dan – Time Out Of Mind
5. Son Volt – Back Into Your World
6. Wilco – Passenger Side
7. Skydiggers – This Is No Time
8. Mourning Widows – True Love In The Galaxy
9. Jars of Clay – Needful Hands
10. Glen Phillips – Easier
11. Ryan Adams – When The Stars Go Blue
12. Steve Poltz – Leavin’ Again
13. Chantal Kreviazuk – Surrounded
14. The Dears – Autonomy
15. Wilco – Remember the Mountain Bed
16. Golden Smog – Radio King
** Secret Song ** Byron Lee – Dollar Wine

A few things to talk

A few things to talk about today.

First, huge shock yesterday when a letter arrived from an old friend I had thought I’d never hear from again. I took her up on the offer to make a phone call and had a great discussion catching up after all these years. On the off-chance she does happen to drop by the site – there was one thing I took away from the film Vanilla Sky, and that was “but how could I enjoy the sweet of life without the bitter?” Hang in there. :)

Second, I’m peering through those Google search terms again today, to see what people search to find my site. So I’ve got a question about these two:

kanata strippers
grand prix and strippers and montreal

Ok, I’m quite certain I spend very minimal time on this site talking about strippers, so why is it I’m turning up on Google like this? Something is up. But, alas, I can offer you no information about your requested searches. Actually, I can tell you that the Grand Prix in Montreal is apparently owned by the cops and the taxi drivers are paid extra to take you there, so simply ask your cabbie to take you there and he will. I know this because the cabbie Steve, Brent, and I got to get back to the hotel after Raw was all but insisting we went there. We didn’t. Sorry to disappoint.

Oh, and on those search terms – Steve, Alex, and Sionne – someone is looking for you.

Cheers,
Rick Jessup
