On May 10, 2001 I boarded an Air Canada flight bound for Christchurch, New Zealand - via Los Angeles and Auckland. Total travel time including layover - about 32 hours. It was a business trip tied to my tenure at CryptoLogic, but it became one of the better experiences I've had. It was hands-down the most beautiful country I had ever seen and the friendly folks at Christchurch Casinos, who I was there to train, ensured I got the most out of my time there. For that I'm forever in debt.

I ended up taking almost 300 pictures while there of many different things, and what I've done here is taken the best slides and made two separate presentation slideshows out of them. The first is simply a look through Christchurch and Queenstown on almost a purely scenic view. I stayed at four different hotels in the three weeks I was there, one of them being that large Mayan-temple Parkroyal you'll see there. You'll also note my odd and somewhat frightening fascination with birds. The song is "Broken Wings" by K'Lee, a New Zealand artist that had heavy airplay while I was there.

The second video is the quick tour through Christchurch and Queenstown as I saw it while there - some great churches, amazing mountains, and in a short three minutes you can see what I saw over the three weeks - the changing of the seasons from Fall to Winter (notice the snow caps). Those mountain views were out my hotel room window. The song is "Weather With You" by Crowded House, another New Zealand band.
