Welcome Gnomies

Wow, I didn’t even know until Kevin posted it in the comments that an e-mail discussion between Jake over at Lockergnome and I made it to the main discussion area of the Lockergnome Windows Daily. I’ve been reading Chris Pirillo’s newsletter since 1999 now and really enjoy it.

He had noted in one of his other newsletters that:

“When you run cracks or use serial numbers, you’re breaking the chain. You may think software piracy doesn’t hurt large companies because “they must be making it up in volume.” Just remember that every company has employees, and every company has a bottom line. The more you take from them, the less they can give back to you. Now, imagine how those smaller publishers feel when someone cheats them out of a registration. In most cases, a registration costs nothing more than a single night out with your family. If you like the software, pay up.”

I took issue and responded, and Jake politely got back to me. I LOVE the opportunity to discuss issues with people that don’t get bent out of shape over differing opinions, and these guys are excellent with that. To read the rest of it I urge you to subscribe today.

My apologies to my friend Rob for spanking his bandwith today – blame the Gnome! ;)

Cheers!
