Sharon Osbourne has gathered a group of performing friends and family to record a cover of the Eric Clapton song ‘Tears in Heaven’ with proceeds to assist those devastated by the tsunami in Asia. Andrea Bocelli, Phil Collins, Elton John, Kelly Osbourne, Ozzy Osbourne, and Rod Stewart will all lend their vocals to the former tribute for Clapton’s four-year-old son who died in 1991 after falling from a window. On an interesting sidenote 2005 is the 20th anniversary of ‘We Are the World’, yet nobody has stepped forward to arrange an anniversary version for tsunami relief purposes, something I personally find quite curious. A ‘We Are the World’ DVD will be released Friday, January 28th.
Fans of Nine Inch Nails have been looking for this news since 1999’s ‘The Fragile’ – a new album. ‘With Teeth’, the new album from the Trent Reznor vehicle, will arrive in stores May 3, 2005 featuring production by Rick Rubin and drumming by Dave Grohl. The release will be followed by a full world tour.
TVGuide.com reports former ‘American Idol’ contestants Joshua Gracin (the marine) and RJ Helton have signed recording contracts. At press time we were unable to find out which labels had signed the two.
