Visions of the North…

Alright I know I promised this story lastnight, but by the time I got home from work, went to the gym, ate dinner and ran those darn ECHL games I didn

  1. Much better luck than last year, good news! I would have been happy, the only thing I ever want to catch are pike.
No teasing about Meteor Lake, I’ve never been one to stop someone from banging their head against a wall if they seem really intent on doing it. Three years in a row with no fish and excessive car and boat damage – my brief time back in big business has taught me to recognize a cost/benefit ratio. ;)
Lots of fish, a few moose, and a trip into Welcome – would have been happy to go! Next year we camp on the island!
BTW, everyone reading this should make sure you’re on Facebook with Mark as a friend, he takes some great pictures of these trips you can check out there.

  2. Meteor have plenty of fish, but unless you get in the opening weekend you aren’t going to get them, as proven by Rob, Eric and your Dad catching their full limit by noon a this year at the opening. Rob has said that we will definitely be up there opening weekend next season even if we have to camp out. I will gladly go back to Meteor on opening weekend.
If we continue to get the shaft on the weekend that we get to go up then we are thinking of targeting pickerel more.
The Moose was definitely a high point on the trip too.

  3. I’d definitely be up for a rustic camping trip coupled with the fishing, we really don’t need that hideous camp. Count me in!

  4. I would say we do need the camp to have a place that keeps the bugs out, but frankly it doesn’t even do that very well…

  5. Awesome write-up Mark. Sounds like a fun trip. Are you going to be posting more pictures? I’d love to see some scenary from the various lakes you visited.
