So as Rick hinted that there is a little more to the story from this weekend, but really he did a fairly good job of telling the bulk of the important stuff. As far as the remainder of the story goes I will do my best to fill in the blanks.
So after the 90min wait to cross the border, a quick search of our car and a declaration of 6 scones (I wasn
I’m interested in finding out what this dream guitar was. There’s a Guitar Center not far from my house and it’s only through sheer willpower that I keep myself from going there all the time.
I’m not sure why Paul’s was but mine was the “Midnight Wine” Fender Telecaster. Mind you I think I have a few other guitars a little higher on the list, plus an amp, but one day it’d be great to own one.
Mark forgot to note I also yelled “PUMPKIN FARTS”, completely cracking up some lady in a nearby car. The mind does odd things when you’re bored in line for 90 minutes, thus my efforts to convince other motorists that I had tourette’s. It passes the time.
My brother came to visit and fell in love with a guitar when we took him there. So he ordered from their online site, shipped it to our place, and we shipped it up to him. Didn’t cost a ton either ($30 cross-border shipping). So, there are always options!
I wouldn’t say dream guitar, but I did fall in love with two different Epiphone Les Paul’s as well as a PRS custom SE model. They will be mine, oh yes they will be mine.
A Telecaster? Really! I wouldn’t have guessed you as a Tele guy. I’d love a new guitar (or three) myself. The floating bridge on my Strat is such a sustain & tone-stealing headache.
Me, I’ve got my eye on a Gibson LP Standard in either wine red or goldtop, a Gibson Firebird, or a cream coloured Schecter Ultra III for that ultra-cool surf rock vibe. Guitar Center carries the Schecter but doesn’t seem to have it on their website anymore.
Excellent taste on the Gibsons Kip. I would kill for a Les Paul Standard; although Id prefer it in ice tea or dark tabacco subburst finish.
The tele was rather nice and for a clean tone or that twangy texas blues sound you really can’t beat them.
