It’s become a familiar complaint amongst those who don’t catch their TV programs live. Shows running over the hour in hopes of keeping viewers into the next program has been popular with networks like ABC and UPN, while starting early has been a practice of NBC. For those setting VCRs or PVRs, the results can be catastrophic, as UPN learned during the season finale of ‘Gilmore Girls’. The final twist of the episode occurred just after the hour, and after PVRs and many VCRs had shut off. UPN will make good with a second airing on Tuesday, May 31st at 9PM ET – this time you may want to add a couple minutes to the runtime.
