There once was a time when a ‘Survivor’ finale was a surefire evening winner, but the 10th incarnation of the CBS reality series has suffered the same fate as the ninth. Sunday night’s ratings indicate an 8PM timeslot victory for CBS with a 10.8/17, edging out ABC’s ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’ with 10.0/16. However, the final hour and reunion special failed to best ABC’s new ratings juggernauts. ‘Desperate Housewives’ pulled down a 15.6/23 with ‘Survivor: Palau’ a distant second at 11.8/17, and the 10PM hour was no closer. ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ got an 11.9/19 compared to 9.7/15 for ‘Survivor: Palau Reunion’.
