NBC Announces Four Summer Reality Series

Nope, not a double post – just similar ideas. NBC will stick with tried-and-true reality programming this summer as well, announcing four new shows and two returning favourites. The summer season on NBC will get a late start with ‘I Want To Be A Hilton’ on Tuesday, June 21st. The series will follow Kathy Hilton (who?) and 14 contestants as they try to fit in throughout New York’s socialite scene, getting eliminated each week until only one remains. The prize appears to be a package that will allow the winner “to live like a socialite for a year.” Late July will bring a reality offering from David E Kelley, ‘The Law Firm’. Hosted by trial lawyer and legal analyst Roy Black the serious series pits two legal teams head to head in real law cases, with binding results. One person is eliminated each week until the winning lawyer takes home $250,000. Wednesday, August 3rd brings ‘Meet Mister Mom’, pitting dad vs dad in a battle of who’s the best parent. Moms are whisked off to a weekend of pampering while Dad runs the house, with Mom watching on TV from her weekend away. Finally, ‘Tommy Lee Goes to College’ follows the former Mr. Anderson as he heads off to the University of Nebraska. So which two shows are returning? ‘Average Joe 4: The Joes Strike Back’ and ‘The Biggest Loser 2’ both return with their existing formats and hosts. Former summer standby ‘Last Comic Standing’ has not been announced, and may have been hurt by a poor performance this past fall season.
