I swear I live in the stupidest country in the world. People rag on the Americans for voting George Bush back in, but trust me, Canadians are far worse. Our ruling Liberal party stole our money and used it to get themselves reelected, then aligned themselves with a nearly fringe party, spent $4.3 billion more of our money to garner their support, and RAISED THEIR PARTY POPULARITY in doing so.
There is NO GOOD REASON to support the Liberal Party, people. They’ve been in power long enough. They’ve stolen billions, and now just did it again right in front of us, but we’re all going to vote them back in? The times when I’m embarassed to be a Canadian are becoming much more frequent, and that’s scary to me.

Con – there’s a difference between policy and theft. People may not agree with Bush’s policies, tactics, or philosophies but – thus far – he hasn’t been known to pay the mafia to get himself reelected. Nor did he jump in bed with his rivals and give them $4.3 billion to ensure his Government doesn’t get toppled.

As a severely right-wing religious conservative I would, yeah. :) Well, I shouldn’t say that – you can vote for whoever you want. As long as they’re not Liberal. I honestly mean that. I find any excuse that involves an assumption that nobody else could be better simply doesn’t work for me. It makes no sense to assume others are no better when the ones we have now are so corrupt. At risk of being cliche it IS time for a change.
