Star Wars Episode VII – Emptying of the Wallet

Not since the Wheel of Fish have so many people been so very excited to get … nothing. What do I speak of? It seems we’re getting awfully close to the May 19th release of the third Star Wars episode, and that means TOYS. But not just any toys – replica of previous mistake toys! The story goes like this – in 1977 Kenner Toys got the license to sell Star Wars toys, but unfortunately not enough time to actually produce them. So they sent out empty boxes to sell, with little vouchers inside for four future figurines. Hasbro, the current owners of Star Wars toy rights, will be issuing 50,000 empty boxes to Wal-Mart retailers this Saturday, with vouchers inside for the four original figures – Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, and R2-D2. Furthermore, those of you in New York can make your way to the Times Square Toys’R’Us and spend $35 to get a free limited edition holographic Yoda. Then it’s over to Target for a $15 limited edition Lava Reflection Darth Vader. Now I know this is exciting enough but – get this – IT’S NOT OVER YET! There’s a hidden symbol on all three packages, and once you get all three and visit the Hasbro website you can crack the code for ANOTHER exclusive prize. The codes are also hidden on the website for those of us without the ability to be in three places at once. The more wordy version of this available here.
