Gail Berman Trades For for Paramount

Fox’s entertainment president Gail Berman, who spent the last year ripping off every other network’s announced programming, has left her position to secure the number two spot at Paramount Pictures. She had been the longest serving television network entertainment president up to her resignation, having come on board in July of 2000. Much approval has been made today of the fact that her watch brought about hits ‘American Idol’, ’24’, and ‘The OC’. Very little attention has been paid to her failed quick ripoffs of ABC’s ‘Wife Swap’ (‘Trading Spouses’), ‘Supernanny’ (‘Nanny 911’), and NBC’s ‘The Contender’ (‘The Next Great Champ’). The fall season for Fox had been a disaster, although the return of ‘American Idol’ and ’24’, coupled with their first freshman hit ‘House’, have salvaged ratings through the winter.
