NBC Goes Renewal Crazy

Five NBC shows have been given an early lease on life for the upcoming 2005-06 television season. The drama department were the big winners yesterday with ‘Crossing Jordon’, ‘Las Vegas’, and ‘The West Wing’ all receiving one-year extensions, and stalwart ‘ER’ getting two more guaranteed years. That will carry ‘ER’ through to a 13th season, having debuted on the network in 1994. ‘Friends’ spin-off ‘Joey’ also received a one-year renewal. For those keeping score NBC had previously renewed all ‘Law & Order’, ‘Law & Order: CI’, ‘Law & Order: SVU’, ‘Medium’, ‘Scrubs’, and ‘Will & Grace’. The fates of ‘American Dreams’, ‘Committed, ‘Medical Investigation’, and ‘Third Watch’ are undecided, but not looking good.
