Shooting Pilots

It seems like the season for the major networks to announce their fall pilots has arrived, and if you’re wondering which of your favourite stars have found their way this far back to television wonder no longer:

  • Chris Rock will star in ‘Everybody Hates Chris’, a single-camera comedy inspired by Rock’s childhood in 1980s Brooklyn. It has been compared to ‘The Wonder Years’, and will feature a narration by Rock.
  • NBC’s ‘Commuters’ has lined up an all-star cast featuring Christine Taylor, Christina Applegate (‘Married With Children’), and Johnathon Schaech.
  • Vincent Pastore (‘The Sopranos’) will star in Dick Wolf’s latest offering for NBC, an as-yet-unnamed drama set in an Italian restaurant.
  • Alicia Silverstone will star in ‘Queen B’ for Fox, with direction on the pilot by Danny DeVito. The drama will centre around Silverstone’s character coming to terms with the fact that people don’t seem to like her as much as she thought.
  • Tori Spelling is on her way to NBC’s ‘Notorious’, a comedy that will also feature Loni Anderson as her mother.
  • Airplane crazy Lara Flynn Boyle has been given ‘Crazy’ alongside Lindsay Sloane (‘Grosse Pointe’).
  • Freshly single Denise Richards heads up ‘Wildlife’ with Eric Balfour (‘Hawaii’).
  • CBS has tapped Jennifer Love Hewitt (‘Party of Five’) and Aisha Tyler (’24’/’The Fifth Wheel’) in an untitled, ungenred.. show.
  • Kristen Johnson (‘Third Rock From the Sun’) and Alan Ruck (‘Spin City’) play a married couple who both like men (get it?) in ‘Don’t Ask’.
  • Former Assistant DA Elisabeth Rohm (‘Law & Order’) will find her way to Fox with ‘Briar & Graves’, a drama about a doctor and a priest who team up to “explain the unexplainable”.
  • Aidan Quinn will star in NBC’s ‘Book of Daniel’ with Ellen Burstyn.
  • Kevin Sorbo (‘Hercules’) mentors his successor at quarterback, Thad Luckinbill, in ‘Bobby Cannon’.
  • Gail O’Grady (‘NYPD Blue’/’American Dreams’) plays a real estate agent in ‘Hot Properties’.
  • 20 people, including Sarah Wynter (’24’) share lottery winnings on Fox’s ‘Windfall’.
  • Tim Sharp (‘Undeclared’) heads up NBC’s new comedy ‘Early Bird’ about a freshly unemployed TV writer.
  • Peter Facinelli (‘Fastlane’), Ashley Scott, Judith Light (‘Who’s the Boss?’), and Charlotte Ross (‘NYPD Blue’) play more real-estate agents in ABC’s ‘Westside’, a drama follows agents responsible for selling high end homes on the west side of LA.
  • CBS’ ‘The Unit’, focusing around the American Special Forces, will feature Regina King and Scott Wolf (‘Felicity’).
  • Bow Wow, formerly Lil’ Bow Wow, will receive his own WB comedy simply titled ‘Bow’.
