A KRIK In Your Ear

I had forgotten to mention previously that a link titled KRIK Radio had silently made its way on to my navigation to your left a month or so back. If you haven’t had a chance to click on it, do so and see what you think. I’ve quietly been assembling a radio station of sorts through Yahoo!’s Launchcast service. I basically begin adding albums, bands, and songs I like and ranking them on a scale of 1 to 100. It then plays music over and over according to my tastes. It’s ever evolving as I add new songs and bands, while banning others they suggest (Dwight Yoakam!?). It’s a good window into the kind of music I like to listen to on a regular basis, and hopefully you like it. I might add one featuring harder music soon, but I’m interested in everyone’s thoughts on this one first. Not like you’ll comment – everyone not named Kip never comments. Hosers.
As glossed over in a previous entry, it’s true I’ll be heading off to London this coming Monday morning for another week away. This time I’m almost positive I’ll have no net access to speak of, which means no blogs. Anyone interested in guest blogging? I can set you up with an account and you can basically just come and type whatever’s on your mind. If so, toss me an e-mail and we’ll get you set up.
Cheers!

  1. Yo!
I’m listening to your radio station right now. It’s alot different from my tastes, but its good stuff nonetheless. I wish I could see in Launchcast what value you actually gave to different artists/songs. That would be cool. All I see is “googlespythano” rated this song/artist.
Keep adding new songs, and I’ll keep listening.

  2. Clive,
Perhaps it’s different for the creating listener, but on my LaunchCast I have three ranking systems down the right hand side – there are tabs for Song, Artist, and Album – and I can click and drag a bar from 0 to 100 to rank them. Perhaps it won’t let you because it would affect the station..
You could always create one and I’ll link it up here.

  3. Everything is gratuitous, this garden, this city and myself. When you suddenly realize it, it makes you feel sick and everything begins to drift…that’s nausea. by paradise poker
