In 1974, on a crisp, February 5, I made myself known at approximately 11:47pm.
I came complete with extremely pointy head, and soon grew up until I became a
college student. Ok, I'm sure there's more I can fit in there. From my birth
until about the age of three I lived in Etobicoke, Ontario, but since my move
from there have made my home in the town of Bolton. I attended the Ellwood
Public School from Kindergarten until Grade 2, at which point I began at
James Bolton Public School. I was here until junior high, which I attended
along with high school at the Humberview Secondary School. Over this time I
was becoming involved in hockey, baseball, softball, collectibles, with a big
emphasis on television and radio. After graduating my Ontario Secondary
School Diploma with honours, I decided to attend York University for a BA in
Commerce. However, after attending for only one year, I decided to try out
college instead. While enrolled for my second year at York, I applied to
Seneca and Humber in August and was accepted to both -- I chose Seneca after
researching both programs, and finding it to be the best recommended.
I have completely enjoyed my time at Seneca College and the hands-on approach
it offers to marketing. My Transcript offers a view at the courses I
have taken and now completed. I graduated in April of 1997 with a 4.0 GPA
in General Business - Marketing, and Business Administration - Marketing.
It's great to be done! I have since gone on to full time work at Kroll
Computer Systems, Inc. in Toronto. In the meantime, I have continued
with my computer-related work, such as webpage programming.
I have been working at part-time jobs straight since the age of 14. My first job was as a stock clerk at Zehr's Supermarkets, but I left that job to become a waiter/busboy at the Cardwell Arms Steakhouse. I was at this job for over four years until they closed down. At the same time, I worked as a clerk/deli/produce/waiter at Boroni's Supermarkets in Bolton, and as a stock clerk at Guardian Drugs Pharmacy. Boroni's also closed down, but I am still at Guardian Drugs Pharmacy after almost seven years. In that time, my responsibilities have increased significantly. I have worked as an assistant in the dispensary, as a shipper/receiver, and as a front cashier. I have worked in the post office, as well as in the back office on the computer systems. I get along extremely well with the entire staff. Recently this drug store was sold to Rexall Pharamacies, and I have continued on in a full time capacity with this organization. In addition to this, I have begun my own home-based business selling computer systems, offering tutoring and support, and programming webpages.
In September of 1997 I acquired a job with Kroll Computer Systems, Inc. in Toronto, Ontario. I am pleased to be a part of their organization and look forward to working with them into the future. My extremely elongated tenure at Bolton Pharmacy officially ended Friday, September 5, 1997.
Most of my more time-intensive hobbies revolve around music. I have been
playing the guitar for the past eight years, and singing for five. I also
have a very moderate knowledge of bass guitar and harmonica.
I have been involved in two small, local bands. My first "band" had no name,
and was basically some friends of mine jamming in my friend's basement. This
lasted for a summer until everyone left for school. My second band was
formed over a Toronto area Bulletin Board System (BBS) called T.E.A.M. The
band's name was N/A and we recorded a demo album
which has rarely been heard by non-band members. We played a concert in
downtown Toronto park in the summer of 1993, and then promptly broke up to
pursue educational goals. I'd like to mention that one of those men in N/A
was Mark Belsito, who is now a part of an up and coming Vancouver-area band
called Wayside. Good luck, Mark!
Since this time I have compiled a collection of songs I have written myself,
and hope to record as a demo in the future. My songs are usually in the
pop/rock/folk category with most attention paid to lyrics and vocal stylings.
I don't claim to be a super guitarist!
I recently recorded a song for an Extreme Tribute Album, my first attempt at
studio recording. This got me involved in the production end of the
recording industry, which is difficult, but rewarding. Most of my songs that
have found their way on to tape can be downloaded on the
Samples Page.
One glance at my CD Collection will indicate my love for music also consists of just listening, rather than playing. I would cite my favourite artists, and greatest inspirations, as Extreme, Jayhawks, Counting Crows, Crash Test Dummies, Chris Isaak, Deadeye Dick, Wilco, and Son Volt.
Another big hobby of mine is watching movies. I am a frequent patron of the local Jumbo Video, but I am also known for having tastes a bit different than most. I enjoy what the critics don't, and pan what the critics do. However, I have seen a large number of movies and own a small library of some of my favourites. This collection can be viewed at my Movie Collection.
I also have great interest in computers. I have extensive knowledge of such programs as Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Lotus SmartSuite (AmiPro, Lotus 123, Freelance Graphics), Corel Draw, Corel Photo-Paint, Renegade, Telegard, Norton Utilities, Norton AntiVirus, and much more software. I have been on the Internet for a little over two years, but have already become quite well-versed in it. I enjoy "surfing" the Internet, and make active use of e-mail and newsgroups.
I also have a hobby/job creating Internet web pages, similar to the one you are viewing now. I am co-owner, operator, and programmer for Cryptic Dimensions Media Publishing, a Bolton based company. For a list of web pages I have had a hand in creating, visit the Portfolio section of my page.
