‘Housewives’ Desperate for Cash?

The Daily Star Sunday in England is reporting the five ‘Desperate Housewives’ are demanding pay increases already after the surprise success of the ABC series. The network had not seen a hit since ‘Spin City’, and an hour-long hit in much longer than that, and the stars (Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Eva Longoria, and Nicolette Sheridan) are reportedly earning between $47,000 and $76,000 per episode. Not terrible numbers for us working stiffs, but far below the $1,800,000 per episode earned by the cast of ‘Friends’ in their final season.

Pamela Anderson a Lying ‘Housewife’?

Last week Pamela Anderson had lamented her decision to turn down the role of Susan Mayer in ABC’s ‘Desperate Housewives’, a role that eventually went to Teri Hatcher. However, during a recent press tour the series creator, Marc Cherry, had this to say in response: “I’m sure she’s a very nice lady and talented in her own right, but she was definitely not on my radar for this particular series.” Oops.
