NBC Announces Special Film Projects for 2005/06

‘The NBC Saturday Night Movie’ is already falling into place with news that some original programming will take place, rather than simply re-run theatrical offerings. The projects will include a sequel to one popular NBC movie, and a remake of an old favourite. ‘10.5: Apocalypse’ will be the sequel to the campy ‘10.5’ earthquake disaster film from a year ago. It will once again star Beau Bridges, David Cubitt, and Kim Delaney, and add Carlos Bernard (’24’) and Frank Langella to the mix. ‘The Poseidon Adventure’ is a remake of the 1972 classic about a sinking cruise ship, and will star Bryan Brown, Rutger Hauer, C Thomas Howell, and Steve Guttenberg. ‘The 9/11 Project’ will dive into the events leading up to the September 11, 2001 disaster, will be written by Graham Yost, and executive produced by Yost, Brian Grazer, Ron Howard, and David Nevins. ‘Behind the Camera: The Unauthorized Story of Diff’rent Strokes’ is exactly what it sounds like.
