CBS has finally announced their summer intentions, and like their competing networks, it will be a reality-heavy season. Highlighting the announcement of five new reality shows is the sixth edition of ‘Big Brother’, premiering Thursday, July 7th, complete with a brand-new two story house, and the same tired old host (Julie Chen). The show will once again air three times a week – Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
Also on the schedule will be ‘Rock Star: INXS’, premiering Monday, July 11th, a new Mark Burnett show that sees the Australian band seek a new lead singer in an ‘American Idol’ style competition. A 30-minute episode on Mondays will follow the hopefuls in their dealings at the communal guest house, Tuesdays will feature a 60-minute performance episode, and Wednesdays will see a 30-minute results show. ‘Fire Me .. Please’, premiering Tuesday, June 7th, pits two people in a new job with the goal of getting fired before 3PM the same day. The quickest loser takes home $25,000. Finally, ‘The Cut’, premiering Thursday, June 9th, will follow Tommy Hilfiger as he looks for the latest employee of his fashion empire.
