Gayla and I met through my great friend Matthew Ber, an old college buddy that had asked if it was ok to bring a new girl he'd only begun seeing to a birthday dinner for me they were having at Jack Astor's in Markham. I didn't care, and actually thought it would be cool to meet this girl Julia he'd only seen for the first time the night before. It's important to note that while I'm normally quite obnoxious in large groups that quotient is even higher when Matthew is around - the two of us are just demons when we're together. So in comes Matthew and Julia and I jump up, point at her, and yell "WHO ARE YOU?" strictly to attempt making her more uncomfortable than she already is. However she definitely one-upped me - and Matthew - by pronouning "GAYLA!" and giving me a big hug. And whilst in this nice hug I mouthed to Matthew behind her "Gayla? I thought you said Julia!" and he says "that's what I thought her name was!" Surprisingly, the two managed to overcome this mere roadblock in the path of life to not only consistently remember one another's names, but to also get married and prepare for the arrival of TWINS this summer! Yes, that's right - Matthew the twin is having twins, courtesy of Julia herself. You go, girl!
