As expected, American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken has hit #1 on the Nielsen SoundScan US Album Sales chart, but unexpectedly with 613,000 units sold. By comparison, the winner of the first American Idol Kelly Clarkson's debut album 'Thankful' debuted in #1 with only 297,000 units sold. In Canada, Aiken's 'Measure Of A Man' opened in second with 25,200 units sold - still many more than Clarkson's 10,500 'Thankful' copies in her first week, which had debuted at a lowly #7.
