Mario Vasquez Quits ‘American Idol’

If you took the easy money on the Vegas lines for ‘American Idol’ your luck just ran out – frontrunner Mario Vasquez has quit the competition. In an exclusive interview with TV Guide the favourite competitor broke the story that he had to quit to “take care of some personal issues with my family in New York. And with Idol being a live show, it just wouldn’t have worked out schedule-wise.” He reiterated it was only a family issue at fault here, not health reasons or a conflict with the show. This top 12 spot on the program has been filled with one of last week’s eliminated contestants, Nikko Smith.

  1. Damn it. I had him as my pick to win it all. This sucks.
