The WWE is looking for a new home, effective September of this year. Spike TV President Doug Herzog, who only recently took over the position, has announced the network is not seeking to extend their deal with the top wrestling group. “After several months of negotiations, we have decided to end our discussions about extending our relationship with the WWE beyond September 2005,” read a statement released by Spike TV. “Moving forward, Spike TV will expand its investments in original programming and new acquisitions for its core audience.” The WWE had demanded a 40% increase in pay, to $40 million/year, in the face of ratings that have dropped substantially since they first jumped to Spike. WWE will return to the USA Network once their current Spike deal expires.
